I don't think I have the energy or desire to talk about the nightmare at Dublin airport, so... the following was actually written a couple of days ago but never posted:
At the Billund airport in Denmark after a fairly uneventful car ride to Vilborg (many thanks to Mette) and two bus rides, the woman at the check-in counter recommended I go to the top floor where it would be more comfortable since I had a couple hours to wait. I got there and they wanted to charge €21 (about $33) just to hang out there and they wanted to charge more money to hop on the Web. No thanks. So this will get posted after I get to the UK or Ireland just to save myself another $10-20 ($50 savings just saying no over and over again). Hopefully it will be an uneventful flight (EDIT: It was the exact same airplane. I have proof)
Maybe this is an opportunity to recall the Dallas connection less than a week before I left the States. Read on if you are curious - I backdated it when I posted it, so you probably never saw it:

The fright of a flight is to be expected when there are children below teendom aboard. In today's "It's not his fault" world, and "You must never punish but only encourage freedom" kids grow up expecting freedom from retribution their entire life. No consequences for one's actions.
Sorry about that.
actually, that was more silly than anything. It now seems the Dublin connection was the worst experience. I don't think I can even bring myself to go over it at this point.
so damn infuriating
