Congrats Obama

Feel free to leave a comment. Don't worry about the anti-Obama hate-mail coward that signs "anonymous." Even if he is full of hate and anger, at least the rest of you can feel good about things.

It is a good day.

Best of luck to you Mr Obama - albeit Mr Bush has left you with somewhat of a poisened chalice, I'd still be confident that your inspiration can go a long way to picking up the pieces and taking the word 'aggression' out of US foreign policy. Those who turned out and elected you deserve just that and I wish you all the best in delivering it!

Finally, some proof that democracy works. Congratulations to President-elect Obama and VP-elect Biden-- Please justify our faith in the promise of your ideals and goals. And to the Obama children: congrats on the forthcoming new puppy!

The American voters have finally gotten past multiple barriers (racial, religious, and cultural) and made their voices heard. Having been born in 1961, a time when burning black churches and beating black demonstrators was still commonplace, I never thought I'd live to see the day. Just the fact that they chose a mixed-race President is nothing short of a miracle. I pray that he will carry out the job he has pledged so eloquently to do .

The man has a lot of class. He's intelligent, well-spoken, cool and calm at all times. He's a decent, dignified man. It was never difficult to picture him leading the nation, or representing all Americans on the international scene in a sane and diplomatic manner...I couldn't say the same for George W.

The election, and American politics in general, has been the PRIMARY topic of conversation and news for months around here, as it has been all around the world. Many people I spoke to here said they had stayed up until four in the morning to find out the election results. Everyone is simply elated that Obama was chosen!

So, on behalf of all my friends here, congratulations, Mr. Obama, and congratulations, America!! We'll be drinking champagne to celebrate your victory! :))

I have to admit that I want to read the vile comments from anonymous. Today, even ugly blog comments can't wreck my mood.

I finally feel good again about an election! My voice has been heard, and I wish President-elect Obama all the best wishes in the enormous tasks he has ahead of him! He definitely has his work cut out for him! Here's hoping he can "reach across the aisle" and take care of all the things he has promised us. We will be watching and praying for him!!
